Always using recycled precious metals and ethically sourced gemstones.
Kate's distinctive precious metal and gemstone jewellery is designed and handcrafted using traditional techniques in her studio, in view of Bennachie in Aberdeenshire. She has always been fascinated by art and design but it has taken some time for her to find the right outlet for her creative ideas. Previously she has dabbled with creative writing and baking, inspired in part by the Great British Bake Off.
Kate's work reflects her own refined sense of style, she aims to create unique pieces that are understated, timeless and effortlessly contemporary. Her jewellery is elegant, characterised by clean graceful lines with the addition of carefully selected ethically sourced gemstones. Excited and initially influenced by the workshops run by Vanilla Ink: The Smiddy, Banff she has been branching out into her own designs from her workshop at home.
Her two farm cats have allowed her some space in their steading for her work bench, which is why she named the business The Cats Shed Jewellery.
At The Cats Shed Jewellery Kate enjoys crafting exquisite contemporary Scottish silver jewellery that captures the essence of our beautiful landscape. She does offer a bespoke design service, which allows you to acquire a truly unique piece that blends flawlessly with your personal style.
